Great Year-around Climate!
- Pueblo West has a dry, mild climate with many days of sunshine all year around.
- Summer days do bump up over 100 degrees F.
- However, temperatures plummet shortly after the sun sets. The temperature frequently drops into the upper Fifties before morning.
- Because early morning temperatures are so low, the temperature does not climb high quickly. The peak temperature is usually only a very short time in the afternoon.
- By mid-afternoon it has usually clouded up and there is frequently a brief thundershower to cool things off again.
- Evenings are gorgeous. You can enjoy beautiful summer evenings on your deck, patio, or out for a walk.
- The humidity is very low, making temperatures much more comfortable.
- The dry climate means there are usually very few mosquitoes to spoil outdoor activities.
- Some winter nights do drop below zero degrees F.
- However, interspersed are many winter days that are sunny and mild, getting into the 40's, 50's, and even 60's.
- It does snow. However, Pueblo West is a "Winter Oasis" where larger snowstorms frequently go around in all directions. It is common to get 4-5 inches of snow here when areas all around get 2 feet of snow.
- The snow we do get usually melts quickly due to Chinook winds. When winds come down the face of the mountains west of us they compress and become warmer.
- We have some of the most spectacular sunsets anywhere in the world. The mountains to the west silhouette prominently in the sunsets.
